sorry let me back up. I recently bought an 87T. The owner had the working trans freshened by a "regular" stop in KY, i have the receipt. The guy just had the car sitting for around 10 years, trans has less than 1000 miles on it, and now the car is in Buffalo NY. I spoke with the shop owner on the phone, just a standard freshen up new clutches, extra plate in OD, most of an art carr shift kit. Wasn't shifting out of first or second until around 4000 rpm when I got it. Local shop found a 700 cable and a spit governor spring. Replaced cable and spring, now 1-2 shift is fine. 2-3 still late. Anyway, the spring comimg out damaged the orange gear a little and the guy put something close in, but it threw the speedometer reading waay high. Soo, wanted to replace it so speedo reads right, using 28" tires, 3.42's. Thanks for the input. Bruce sorry to hijack your thread!
