were planing a honeymoon and going to aruba.any of you guys herte ever been their and know of a good place to stay. tia :D

Stayed at La Cabana for my honeymoon but that was 13 years ago. Was fairly new and they were adding on at the time. Casino nearby too. Beach was right across the street. http://www.lacabana.com/

Believe it or not there is a dragstrip on the island. Found the signs for it when we were there but never did find the strip itself.

There was one restaurant that I would NOT recommend. It was called Papa's and beers. Was fun watching the roach races across our table. Needless to say we didn't stay for the meal. Doubt if it is still open.

Make sure you rent a car and head to the northern part of the island. Amazing what a Toyota Tercel could do off-road,:D

Been there done that, great time

Check the internet, we stayed at timeshare unit called Divi near Tamarijn
Tamarijn Aruba

It was centrally located, make sure to rent a car/2 door tracker convertible, very highly recommended. You can cruise all over the island instead of walking. The Tamarijn and Divi are walking distance to downtown party life ( watched march madness from the bar called "Cheers")

We rented a car for a day and then returned it the next day, when we left, FYI: use it to get you to the airport when you leave instead of waiting for Taxi's... 1/2 hour you can go from one side of the island to the other and back again...

Visit Baby Beach and California Light House and Natural Bridge.

We went out on this party boat called "Tattoo" one night! Good name for it, because drinks were 2 for 1 with lots of music and fun and they tattoo'd my ass with a hangover. They had a rope you could swing out off the boat into the water... it was great. Later we heard that there were shark attacks and we were swimming in the water like a bunch of drunk americans. Little did we know NO native islanders were jumping off because of the attacks... gotta laugh looking back on it... even have a photo were I am splashing my feet and it looks like a gray fish behind me in the photos.... to funny!!

After leaving the boat, we asked for group photo... we were able to get 27 people together for the shot...

PS I went with my girlfriend and a sister and friends. Total it was me ( 1 guy ) and 5 women, 2 girls were 15 and 19 yrs old (see photo in dance shot) and rest were adults... lots of drinks were bought by many guys and I drank free too during that week...

Natural Bridge - Aruba -- where the water is the roughest...

This should get you started, enjoy, I loved it there!

It is more about the area and less about where you sleep... The bright sunny days and night life will keep you outside and busy... and then when you have to much sun, go shopping...

BIG WARNING

You are very near the equator, so it is VERY HOT and you will get burned... We would go lay out by the pool or by the beach early in the day like about 9 am - 11 am -- then go shopping, catch a bite to eat and then go back out in the sun later in the day. The sun is so hot you will only need 30 mintues to bake and then flip and 1 hour you should be baked quite well on both sides... Bring long white shirts to block the sun... and lots of sun screen...

Another area is near Holiday Inn

guys, thanks for the replies.gnregistry,we were actually looking at divi before i posted this.do you know any of the diffrences. tia:D

Ownership

Ownership and location. All Inclusive is the way to go...

Just remember the SUN and the intensity of it. 9 am sunburn is possible down on the equator near Aruba.

Tamarijn is on the Beach side of Carribbean and DIVI is across the road, not beach side yet beach view. They both have pools, it is just that Tamarijn is right on the beach. It is centrally located on the island and great sunsets to see from the beach of Tamarijn

They are now both owned by DIVI, which has condo units all over the country.

The other thing is we went to Venezuela, South America for a day excursion which is short plane ride from Aruba. That was different.

During those years. wow, I could have bought another GN for what was spent on vacations.

St. Maarten - 3 times
Aruba - 1 time plus Venezuela too
Europe for 3 weeks
(Madrid, Spain; Paris, France; Rome, Italy, Switzerland too)

Now I the only vacations I take are in the US - Bowling Green 25th GS Nationals.... coming soon...

later

If you go to Natural Bridge, have some money ready for the "water witch" if you want to use the john! The Suzuki's are the way to go for getting around. Stayed at Tamarijn. Curacuo and St Martin are nice places to visit also. Have Fun!

Like there's a bad place to stay in Aruba???? Hell I'd sleep on the beach if I had to.

I'll second that. We went on our honeymoon in Aruba 6 years ago. If you've got the dough, the Hyatt is plush. We stayed at the Winford (Sheraton) - very nice place. They aren't kidding about the intensity of the sun!

Whenever I go to Aruba I stay at the Renaisance Resort in the middle of downtown. They also have there own private island where they take you on a boat ride for like 10 min. and then you have this huge island to yourself with other patrons of the Hotel!

I love that place ! 4 wheeler tour ,rental car to the lighthouse, rock paths, natual bridges, goats in the road everywhere, casinos, diving trips !!

Best moment we are ready to go on a diving trip and the instructer tells us it's an open bar drink up ! " the more you drink the bigger you see fish" I was crackin up ! And yes it was an open bar.
Head in to town at night if any cruise ships come in. WOW that is party time.

We stayed at the hyatt top notch.

weel thanks everbodyh, i just booked our honeymoon. were staying at the tamarijn. its a while away yet but i cant wait.:D

I stayed there for my honeymoon 7 years ago. A friend of mine got married last month and stayed next door at the Divi-Divi. They are both great places, you will have a awesome time. If you go snorkeling at the Tamarijn, look for my wedding band, LOL. I lost it second day being married. Be careful if you go kayaking in the ocean. Aruba has a strong trade wind that blows constantly and it took us out real far. We had to paddle so much I thought my arms were gonna fall off. My wife got her whole head braided cause the wind ruined all her hair styles  .
