Just letting you fortunate 547 know that #054 will be for sale at the Mecum event this week. Lot# S175 going up some time Saturday. It's supposedly a "never-dealer-prepped" example. It will be interesting not only if it sells, but also if they even televise it. Mecum usually goes to commercials on a TurboBuick!!

Anyway, I love the X's - wish I had the loose change in my couch cushions to buy this one.

Take a peek!

They did a nice profile of the car on Saturday. Still has all of the wrappings and protective stickers on it. Never delivered to a customer. Sold for $107,500.

My question is, what do you do with this car? Drive it and kill the value? Park it and admire it in the garage?

These cars typically wind up in someone's collection with some other never prepped zero mileage cars
Frankly it's bragging rights of who has it and what they paid for it
Unfortunatly it probably will never be driven

It's like dating a porn star and never having sex With her

I couldn't agree more. Cars are meant to be driven; if they're not, it's like they're unable to fulfill their potential of allowing an owner to enjoy the driving experience. How would you know you have great car if you don't drive it? I think it is an injustice to the vehicle to not drive it. Take em out and let them stretch their legs and RUN!!!!

Thought I saw the headliner and pass visor getting bubbly and coming down.

I noticed that too. Had to laugh because I had to get my headline and visors redone last year. Apparently the glue has a lifespan measured in years, not miles.

Interesting car. I talked to the guy for quite a while. I actually got forced into the conversation because I chose to wear one of my GN caps....he saw it and then had to prove to me why his was better, which it obviously is.

He told me the headliner started to fall last year or the year before, but it's been in climate-controlled storage for it's entire life, and he didn't want to get it repaired because then it wouldn't be original any longer.

The dude still had the original oil filter and plugs that he shows people.

I was at the auction on Saturday for several hours. I watched it go across the block and I have to admit, when it fetched $107,500 I was pleased. That was a good way to close out my day.
