hi im cameron and this is my first post in here but ive been reading a lot of the past posts so heres my question:
right now im running a hooker down pipe 2 1/2 with the deltagate wastgate. also a 2 1/2 testpipe and dual flowmasters, anyway the car sounds good from the ouside but inside theres way to much drone.
But i've been told to go with a bigger downpipe im switching to a 3inch dp and 3 inch testpipe with built in exhuast cut out.
So with the 3 inch dp what should i do with the rest of the exhaust, i already have the flowmasters set up for a sale so what kind of mufflers will be the best to use? i want the best performance but muscular sounding with little drone. also should i go with a 2 1/2 piping or 3 inch.
thanks for any help-cameron

I hope this helps.

I am about to install Hookers 2 1/2 from Summit. $309 to the door.
Sometimes they come with Aero mufflers and sometimes they come with a diff type, at least that it what Summit said. I would get the Aero's. They are straight thru.

The 3 inch isn't really necessary. More or less it's just for looks. There are plenty cars in the 10's running Hooker 2 1/2. It's your call.

The FlowMasters are horrible. Case in point, I run alky. I normally run around 25 lbs of boost thru the exhaust (Flows). I turned the boost back to 21 and opened up the dump. I then went to 28 lbs, thankfully with no knock.

That's why I am switching.

They sell SS dual and single.

I am sure there are more, I just haven't found them yet.

Stainless Ultraflows are a good muffler.

They come in all sizes with all kinds of offsets and two lengths I believe 15" and 18" I think, they used to have a webpage with dimensions and pictural diagrams on it with all the numbers. :)

Nothing wrong with 2.5" systems but the 3" sound better but weigh a little more.

Listen to a few cars then make your decision, if possible.

Hooker "Maximum Flow" mufflers are a straight-thru type construction. They will be a little louder than the Aero Chambers (which are not a true straight-thru) but will make more horsepower as they flow more (600 vs 440 cfm).

The Dynomax magnum http://www.dynomax.com/ is what I have on my car they flow 1133cfm  . It's the closest thing to running straight pipes. The best part is (for me anyway) that they are not too loud. They may cost a little more but I'm a beleiver in doing things right the first time.

Just finished the exhaust

With the stock downpipe and test pipe, I put on the Torque Tech 2 1/2 cat back and the Dynamax Ultraflows (stainless). I took off the Super Turbos.
The sound is great, no drone. I love it. Nice and stealthy.
I did have a problem with the collector on the Torque Tech. Needed to cut and reweld it to make it fit at the test pipe.
