Last june the seals in my turbo failed. I have since replaced the turbo. When I let the car idle everything seems normal. When I take the car down the block, it starts smoking like mad. What is the problem? I have let the car run for long periods of time to burn off any residual oil that may be in the exhaust system. but after 7 months you would figure that is not the problem. Any help will be great.

After a short run down the street it smokes, when I return home it smokes for a while at idle. I have started it and let it run for about 30 min at a time and it did not smoke. the smoke is kind of grey, it does not smell like coolant and does not really smell of oil.

What color smoke? White, gray, or black?

How warm is the car when it smokes? If you let up on the gas and idle at the curb for a while does it still smoke?
