GM testing Methanol in T-types?

Not True

Ethanol does not have to come just from Corn , it can come from many different biomass products
and Methanol does not have to come from wood distillation

I was thinking most common simple terms. Thank you for the detailed info.

Just to add to what's already been posted (a lot!), there's also an SAE paper that can be bought at www.sae.org for $26 (keeps going up):

Yee, G., Woodward, B., and Yuille, R., "Conversion of 1984 Buick Turbo Regal to Use Methanol (M-85) as a Motor Fuel," SAE Technical Paper 861592, 1986.

Says the authors were affiliated with Standard Oil Co., Michigan Automotive Research Corp. and General Motors Corp. 16 pages.

There's also 860107, "Variable Geometry Turbocharging with Electronic Control," by Joseph F. Moody of Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac Group Powertrain Engineering. This was the '85, and includes power curves for both "variable geometry" and "1985 production" motors. (I add this as someone mentioned the project.)
