Due to heat warnings posted for the area and a forecasted high temperature of 100 degrees, the Tuesday, June 22nd, event at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois, which includes the Street Car Shootout Series, Big St. Charles Motorsports Street Bike Shootout Series and High School Eliminator
programs held in conjunction with the NHRA Drags Street Legal Style presented by the American Automobile Association, has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday, June 24th. The postponed event will be held in conjunction with the scheduled Slick Tire/Motorcycle program.

In 2008, a Weather Parameters mandate was adopted into the GIR rules:

E2a. Gateway International Raceway’s weather-mandated gate policy will cancel any daylight event in GIR’s regular weekly series programs if the forecasted temperature for the day of the event, (as issued by the National Weather Service twenty-four hours in advance of gates opening for the event), is less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit or more than 99 degrees Fahrenheit. For evening events, the minimum forecasted temperature for safe competition will be a forecasted high temperature on the day of competition of 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Gates open at 5 PM with qualifying and timed trials beginning at 6 PM. As always, check Gateway Raceway.com for details and updates.
