My Walbro 340 unit took a dump. My new one just arrived so I`m tackling the job today. Removed the fuel tank and I`m noticing alot of corrosion around the pump and sending unit. What could cause this to happen? The tank is about 3-4 years old and is just beginning to show some corrosion spotting on the inside. I purchased the tank new from a dealer so its an original.
Is there anything I can flush the inside of the talk with to somehow seal the tank walls and prevent corrosion or is there some additive to put in the fuel to prevent it.
When I pulled the sending unit out, the fuel pump sock was all filled with small particles of rust. Probably contributing to my pump taking a dump. I just don`t want to do this again in another year.
Any suggestions?
