So after getting my 87 GN painted last fall, I am finishing up putting it back together. The old gas tank was leaking, so I ordered a new one from Autozone and had the body man put it in. Just found out last night the license plate holder will not open/close correctly because the filler neck needs to be tweaked up a little bit for clearnance. Has anybody else had this problem before?
I don't see any practical way to bend it up slightly while its on the car, for fear of breaking the filler neck at the tank. The tank looks like its physically mounted where it should be.
Any suggestions?
