filling up gas tank

When i fill up my gas tank until the nozzle clicks off it leaks out of somewhere for a couple of miles down the road. My gas gauge does not work so that is he only way i know the gas tank is totally full. does anybody else have this problem.

uncommon... Could be the seal at the sender unit is fubar.
The gauge problem could be there.
Could also be the vent, return line, area, that's the leak. You can take the heat shield pan down, [on the pass side, over the rear axle area], and see if there's gas stains.
Time to drop the tank, and take a look.
Given it does it only when full, I'd lean toward the sender unit....
 
You might want to look at the tank for rust holes that can develop under the rubber strips for the tank straps. I had one that did that once.
 
The filler neck on my GN started leaking at only 7500 miles or so. Cleaned up the area and put JB Weld around where it connects to the tank, no leak in 20,000 miles since.
