Extender chip issues

I recently purchased the extender chip. After installing it I tried to start the car after going thru the anti-theft disable steps. The car wouldn't start. I then hooked up turbolink and noticed that the gear position indicator on the screen was not lit up in any of the gears. Also, the a/c which was removed from the car, does not change the number on the integrator in the on or off position.

1. How does the computer know what gear I'm in? Through the wire on the transmission or the neutral safety switch on the steering column (I have a console shifter Grand National 1986)?

2. Since the a/c wires are unplugged from the compressor and various other parts of the a/c, where can I jump a wire to get a power signal to the computer that the a/c is on?

1.) I would guess the wire one the tranny.

2.) I think you can jump the wire on the canister by the ac box on the pass. side of the engine compartment..
