Is anyone running an exhust cut out. Looking at doing one and was looking for some feed back....

I have one on my car but usually keep it closed because I have an ATR exhaust, which I feel it flows fairly well and I kinda like being quiet.

That said my best time through the exhaust is a 10.75@124.86 and best MPH is 10.76@124.95, on my last time out for 2003 I decided to open the cutout and see if it'll help and it went 10.73@125.18 and 10.69@125.80 on my first two passes.

So in my case it did seem to pick up some.

HTH,
Steve

Well it isn't all that loud when running open exhaust, but the trick is to make sure it is pointed out from under the vehicle or it will give a nasty drone at certain speeds/rpm's

Definately livable but can get annoying really fast.

Comaparable to a Mustang with headers and a loud flowmaster.

Yea, me too.

If you have the cutout exiting out the side it will eliminate most of the drone you are reffering to.

Both hunter and I have unbolted the testpipe flange and bolted it back up so it wouldn't line up and the exhaust would just exit there. That causes ALOT of drone. If you use a cutout that points out from under the car it sounds alot better.
