Engine noise - Need help

I just receintly fired my new motor and noticed a noise that I can't identify. The motor does have Weisco pistons which some people say that is what i'm hearing. It has a slight diesel sound. I know that forged pistons grow more than stock cast pistons when warmed up but this noise does not go away after the warm up period. To make this even more complicated I am getting very little oil to the rocker arms. The lifters seem to be pumped up but not delivering much to the rocker arms. I have very good oil pressure both cold and hot. I put the stock original cam and lifters back in so I am assuming that both are good. They did sit for 6 months. How much oil should the rockers be getting? While running with the valve covers off should you have oil shooting everywhere or just oozing out? Thanks, Ed
