emissions

In RI you can register the car as an antique after it is 25 years old, car gets checked every two years, but does not have to pass emmissions test, still get sticker. I thought that there was a standing fine of 10k for removing the converter imposed by EPA. I heard of a guy in NJ who had to sell the GN to pay the fine for removing the cat.

having a cat will smell worse when you get on it - rotten eggs/sulphur type smell.
cat or no cat is not going to change the smell of raw unburned fuel if your running rich , if its that rich it will kill the cat anyways

In the end how much of a gain do you get without the cat?????

I'm guessing it's not much??? Maybe this has been talked about before????

When I'm driving I can actually tell when a car goes by or is behind me if the converter is not on there!!!

I've often wondered if the converter police would want to hire my nose:biggrin:

They definetly get stinky without them.
They claim that some of the aftermarket high flow cats, don't cost any hp.
