Methanol on the fuel system...????
Just completed the cleaning of 3 sets of 230# injs.
They are out of 2 10.5 cars, on methanol.
The tuner indicates they are seeing such "dirt" being made by the alky eating up the fuel cells, alum fuel lines, rails, etc.
The tuner indicated they are now having the entire fuel system hard anodized... In and out.
This is a pic of 1 filter basket and it's contents. All baskets in the 2 sets run in the car without the anodizing are in this condition.
The baskets from the car with the anodizing... about 90% what I'd call clean..

If U R running methanol.. keep an eye on the system!

Think the baskets don't play an important part in the performance of the inj's??.. The 2 lower fotos are injectors being tested due to a complaint of a blown engine..The ONLY change to the injs,[no cleaning at this point], was the removal and replacement of the filter baskets.

I learned very early on, use a lot of filters and use filters as close to the injectors as possible, and remove the basket filters.
Also, don't let methanol sit in your system. Flush with gasoline after the weekend.

Also, religiously use Klotz Uplon upper lube in the fuel. It doesn't completely eliminate the corrosion problem, but it does drastically reduce it.
