Can anyone give me a link to a drawing of the posi-traction assembly, 87 Buick GN? Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks for the drawing. Would you also have a drawing of the pinion assembly? We replaced the carrier bearings and the rear-end whine did not go away although one of the cups was spalled badly. Going to replace the pinion bearing. Would you know what that part number is? Again, thanks very much for the help.

for parts , buy the rear axle pinion install kit or the full kit (mini kit) from www.gearsrus.com (he's a GN guy) or Drivetrain.com

and recommend you read up on how to properly install a rear pinion gear set

The information you have provided is most useful. I had ordered the pinion rebuild kit from 'drivetrain.com' just this morning.
I very much appreciate your help.

I lost my inner pinion bearing and hence a big whine. Don't use synthetic gear lube. I'm withholding the name. I tried to get warranty from the supplier but they just stalled. You'll probably need a new ring and pinion gear set too? I replaced everything on mine, new Eaton Posi, 31 spline axles, all new bearings, cost me $1200 complete. Awesome results! My experience.
