Ok guys, what's the size of choice for a high 12 second TR? I want to mount these on stock Turbo T wheels with no clearance issues.
Basic mods with larger injectors, fuel pump, hot wire, large K&N filter, Fuel pressure regulator, RJC DP/TP & Power plate & Wires.
Stock turbo, IC, Converter, and suspension. Probably need to add air bags too for 1.6-1.7 60' times?

Thoughts?

I currently have 275/45/16 Toyo drag radials on the car now. Wanting slicks for better traction on the few times a year I run down the strip. Thinking a little taller tire will help too.

Thoughts drag racers ??

The 255-60-15 are 28" tall and fit well on stock rims.

many have run 275 drag radial and 28 X 9 slick on a 7 in wheel. But a 8 in wheel is recommended.
A 255 60 15 will give you about a 1 1/4 hight over what you have but you'll give-up 3/4 in witch.
With your combo I would stay 25 3/4 tall, I see no advantage for you with a 28X9/15 slick or 275-75 /15 DR
A 255-60/15 DR on a 7 in T type would be a option

You may not like my post and I'm not trying to offend you
But........
You need to drive the car
High 12s on any drag with your combo is a more achievable task when driven properly.
Get some seat time and drive the car
Work at it.
every member suggestion above is a great one.
but trust me
Drive it right.

These tires would just be used for the track. Thought I could build/leave with more boost with true slicks and lower trap RPM with a taller tire.

Also turn the boost to 20psi
Good octane
And a shift kit
And drive
Yes sir - running 20psi with Sunoco 110 fuel.
Agree tho, need more time in the seat with the car. It's been about 25 years since we raced these cars.

Cool
get that 60ft and 330 down and your there easy😉
I like 15psi in the rt airbag
And holding 1st gear out longer at the track before shifting to 2nd.

I ran 28-9 Hoosier on 8 inch wheel 4 in backspace fits without rolling the fender

my street tire is 275-60 /15 again 8 in wheel 4 in backspace ,BUT its a Cooper. The MT 275-60 /15 PRO DR on a 8 in I'm sure will rub, maybe it would fit with rolled fender The 275-60/15 ET Street R DR might fit . ET street SS will fit
I have run 28X 9 MT Pro Bracket Radial too again fits ,No airbag and stock spring on my car
