door jam switch intermitent short

With both doors open the jam switches have a dead short to ground. With the passenger door closed the drivers jam switch has a pulsing short to ground. When I open the jam switch, push the jam switch in, the pulsing short is the white wire. When I roll the dimmer switch to the on position the pulse then becomes a dead short to ground. TIA
