Does this activity hurt the thrust bearing?

My car sees only street use and I am regularly accelerating quickly and then braking quickly while making yellow lights or lane changes. Does this type of driving eventually damage the thrust bearing and eventually the crank? Reason I ask is that my previous engine went because thrust bearing spun. Engine first developed a ticking sound, accompanied by a small vibration that I could feel at the accelerator pedal, and about 5 psi lower overall oil pressure. This condition gradually worsened over about 10 mos. before it bearing finally went. (Also, there was no problem at all with the TC.) I only got about 30,000 miles out of previous rebuild and am I looking at about the same life out of this new Nick Micale motor? Thanks for any help.
