Digital dash question

The digital dash in my car just went out today, does anyone know whether or not any of the aftermarket gauges will work with the factory wiring? I am thinking I would rather spend the $300.00 on a nice speedo, tach and gas gauge and fabricate my own cluster out of ABS plastic.
