Difference between BOP and Chevy TH350

Gents,

Have a question. Is the only difference between the BOP and Chevy TH350 just the bell housing? Does it have the same input/output shaft splines? Reason why i am asking is that I am thinking of buying a built TH350 Chevy and was wondering if the only thing I will have to buy is the adapter plate. Comments, Suggestions?

Yes, you can use a chevy TH350 in place of a BOP TH350 with just using an adaptor plate. No problems. Just did this on a friend's car... Put a '72 Buick 350 and a chevy TH350 into an '84 Bonneville. Works great!

the parts are inte changable but there are many differences.the bop stuff has removable race on the direct drum,different thickness sunshells etc.

Do these differences make either Chevy or BOP TH350's more desirable than the other?
