Dash plate

My 84 GN has this dash plate for some reason. I have tried to find other GN's with this type of dash plate and have not found any. Any of you have this type of dash plate or any info about it. Heres a pic

I've never seen that dash or plate in a gn maybe a t-type, why is the dash black all GNs I've ever seen had grey maybe the previous owner did that to the car if it's a Gn and not a T

Its supposed to be charcoal color for the 84 but it was painted at some point.
