I just installed a t64e on my car w/ the following mods ALLREADY BEING ON THE CAR:
P/P Steel Heads, ATR FM/IC, 50LB. MSD'S,12" 2800 stall converter, 3" DP, deltagate, 70 mm TB and upper plenum. Previous to the turbo upgrade, (I was using a t-34 turbo prior to this one) I WAS running 11.9's @112 w/ 1.7-1.8 60' times @ 20PSI. Went to the track this past Friday and could not get the car to build boost off the line. I was launching w/ only 5 psi and my 60' were 2.0-2.2. My et's actually dropped back to 12.6-7 with no increase in MPH. My question is what converter and stall to you guys run w/ this turbo to get it to launch?

a T64E is not a TE45A, but that is not relevant

something is wrong if you do not pick up significant mph....prolly fueling......

TE45A needs 3200+ stall and should flash to 4000 on launch (trans brake) 3200 at launch will give you about 10 lbs boost (at least on my converter......Precision 5 disk l/u, 3200 stall)

fueling at spool up is very important....lean and mean or it won't spool

need to run some boost....20 + minimum

2800 stall is definitely not enough...particularly if that is a 12" converter
