compare 85GN to 87 GNX, fun!

this question came up the other day! bench racing.

how would my 85 GN compare to a stock 87 GNX!
my GN has an LS 6.0L stock, with 4L80E auto, factory computor been reflashed!

so a 1/4 drag race,, and then an autocross, and if available a a road course run 3 laps??
be nice to run at the TEXAS MILE, which is a 1mile drag race!

my GN has suspension mods the usual stuff also.

dont want to start a war, or meltdown, like apples & oranges,, just wondering results??

What what kind of results and numbers does your car produce?

I'd have to say the 85GN. The reason I say that is because I've seen stock 6L Pontiac G8 GT with a custom tune run in the mid 13 second quarter mile. Now take that same motor, reduce the weight of the car by around 400 pounds and figure that the 85GN is going to 60' better than the lousy 1.9 to 2.0 60' of the G8. I'd give the advantage to the 85GN, but I don't believe it'd blow the doors off the GNX. Throw some race gas at the equation, jump the boost up and chip the GNX. Things start looking a lot better for the GNX. If both cars are running race gas, then I'm not sure what the outcome would be. Maybe a little better for the GNX.

Autocross wise, both GNX and 85GN have modified suspension. So who knows?
