i raised the fast idle again (how i can adjust it to 1500 RPM and then readjust it back up to 1500 RPM is beyond me!) and it no longer acts like it has a huge miss when i first drive the car, one problem solved. it doesnt surge as much as it use to, i barely notice it at all, problem somewhat solved. it STILL wants to run at a high idle when i put it in parkafter it warms up, like 900-1000 RPM although when i restart a few minutes later it idles at 750......ok WTF???? i turned the electric fan to come on at around 200 degrees but i'm not sure that has made a difference at all. i'm thinking the engine is running so cool at cruising speeds (like 40-50 MPH) that the fast idle cam kicks on and when it sits not running the rising heat heats up the carb and makes it idle at curb idle again. this is the ONLY thing i can think of.

no vacuum leaks, everything looks ok and seems to be working fine on the carb.

i dont believe i will be turning the fan up past 200 degrees, i dont think i need to.
