You can test the coil pack the same way as spelled out in the Quad 4 manual. I did this and it works. All you need to do is to buy some vacuum hoses ( I used two sizes one inside the other) that will fit between the spark plug wire terminal and the coil pack terminal. You need to install them on all six terminals on the coil pack. Start up the engine and use a shorting probe and see how far the spark will jump from the vacuum hoses to the shorting probe. You can also see the energy of the spark. I used this procedure to find a problem on my car. This is a poor man's coil pack tester. Hope this helps.
