code 42 ?

My car is missing bad and I"m getting a code 42 when I have the translator plus hooked up.Take it off and put the stock stuff back on everything clears up.Why is it doing this?Is the tanslator bad or could the MAF be bad?The MAF is off a 2001 vette it should'nt be bad already!Maybe someone has had this happen before?

Code 42 has to do with the ECM and Ignition. Your ECM is probably not likeing the signal its getting and messing it all up.

Well found out today the Translator plus unit is bad!Can't understand why it would go bad just sitting around.Sent it off today hopefully it will be fixed before the BOP race here at Bristol.Thanks Kyle F for the reply.It was definately doing some weird stuff.Thanks again,WES
