*April 25th, Sunday CCGSCA Race #1 - Samantha Rix Memorial Race Byron
Dragway, Byron Illinois. Track opens 9:00 A.M. T&T (about) 10:00 A.M.
This is the kickoff race of the season, The Samantha Rix Memorial Race. I have spoken to Carol and Tom Rix. Carol says she is doing very good and looks forward to attending the first race with Tom. Carol who is an IHRA chaplain will again say a prayer for the safety of the driver's and their cars. Tom will not be able to bring the Red car because the engine is in the process of being freshened up and dynoed. Carol and Tom wanted me to relay to the Buick club that they are honored that we dedicate the first race of the year in memory of their daughter Samantha.
Track opens at 9:00 AM. I will be there early to get our lane assignments from BJ. If possible lets try to pit together as much as possible. I am definately getting too old to be running around the track finding everybody. We usually pit on the Byron Hill side of the track either in the grass area or the adjoining concrete area.
