this is just to see if anyone has ever done this put a new type ignition control module and coils from a new type 3800 on either a hot air buick or ic 86 or 87 regal turbo

I just built an ignition harness for a SC3800 customer. I am waiting to hear feedback on how it worked.

Any chance you are referring to the '89-ish through 2000-ish ignition set up? If so, yes, been a bunch of folks that have converted to it. It is called either the quick-start or fast-start system. This set up uses two crank shutter wheels and sync's up within a half an engine revolution. Doesn't use the cam sensor for ignition, it is only required for the SFI part.
