Ca. Speedway Drag Race

Jeff, what is this track like ie condition of the surface, slow down area, etc?? Any idea as to the normal attendence at an event like this??

Your input would be appreciated. I might try and drive over for this.

Don, I have not raced at this track but Neal Steward, who runs a 10 sec. car, has always given the thumbs up on the traction and track prep. From what I have heard it is very popular and it would be advisable to get there early.

Fontana is a nice track.

You get good launches off the line and the shut down area is nice and long.

Big parking lots there and you will get at least 4 to 5 runs easy.

Thank you for the reply. Assuming that since it is listed as street legal, no slicks are allowed. Do you know anything about the rules.

You can run slicks.

You can NOT go quicker than a 10.00 ET 9.99 gets you booted.

Tech is pretty stringent, so be prepared.

You have to have a valid registration and insurance, they will ask for it.

I think that is about it, I could be wrong...

10.00s ET, not in my wildest dreams. I can only tech for 12.00 (no roll bar). I am happy running low 12's through the mufflers with my 50K, stock (OEM) block.

Sounds like a great weekend.

Corked or uncorked ? 100 db's isn't a lot, I assume even we can't run with the dump open ?:(

You wont hit 100 decibels with it uncorked.

Dads Stage motor did not hit it and that one is louder than most.

Matter of fact, I dont think they have booted anyone for the noise rules.

Gonna be there on Sat. less it rains. If you see a white GTA that sounds like your buick come say hi.:)

Just find the rest of the Buicks and park with us. There will be at least one or two GNs .

They can be spotted in a crowd.
