That is about the dumbest headline ive ever read. What happened did Bush fall down in the shower or did he choke on another pretzel and have a vision of what to do. I'm wondering if the clear vision has the Iraqi guy who was supposted to take over next month but was just caught in a scam with saddam called "food for oil". I also wonder if this clear vision has our troops being ORDERED to beat and kill prisoners that have never been charged or been to trial? By the way we just let most of them walk away after what, two years in hell. And just this week after a big meeting everyone was told its going to get worse very soon per Bush, I wonder if that will be in the speech monday. We are pulling our troops from Korea-35,000 to be exact and that number is a drop in the hat to what is needed. Remember The words "clear vision" since this war has been going now for what a year. Maybe a clear headed individual before the invasion started is what was needed.

Clear vision

Or maybe we should have just sat back on our sack and tried to "talk It over?"
At least this President had the Nads to do something about it!

Yea, and now the US, and the rest of the world for that matter, are paying for your idiot of a president's BS. Osama must be laughing his A$$ off, watching this unfold.

Nice Job GWB.

The only Clear Vision GWB has is his failure, and loss in Nov., I hope.

As a turbobuick owner I check the board on a semi regular basis, normally for just car related info. However lately there has been a huge influx of political threads, which is not surprising considering recent events. I really enjoy reading these posts as politics are a hobby of mine, and hopefully one day a career. That said there are two consistent things that I am surprised and may I say very troubled to see.

First, I understand that few, if any, cast a vote for a presidential candidate solely based on their position towards cars. That said, I can't see how anybody on this board would give a vote for Kerry or any other liberal knowing that if they had their way none of us would have this hobby anymore.

Secondly, I fully understand that with any war there are always going to be a supporting faction and an opposing faction. Regardless of what my personal viewpoints are I wholeheartedly believe that a person should be able to express their dissent or their support regardless of how wrong, stupid or riduculous it seems.

That said, what really irks, and actually scares me about some of the people on this board is that they refuse to concede that deposing Hussein was a just act. Please read this specifically. I am not talking about the war in general, I am only speaking to the fact of taking Saddam out of power.

The reason that I point this out is that some 60 years ago when we were fighting the Germans and the Japanese there was also a section of the public that did not want to go to war for some of the very same reasons that are being used today. The difference between that generation and this generation is that when everything was said and done, even those who opposed the war conceded the fact that it was a good thing that Hitler and his bunch were eliminated.

So for those of you who are asking me, "what in the hell is your point", it is this. We should all respect each others right to support or dissent recent events. However anyone who would claim that ending Saddam's regime was the wrong thing to do needs to have their moral compass checked.

flame suit on... racking the slide

Great post! Here are my thoughts, if I may

I am not talking about the war in general, I am only speaking to the fact of taking Saddam out of power.

Right, he needed to go, but @ what cost. I would have liked to have seen Saudi Royal family go first. Sadam was a tyrant, but as far as the war on terrorism goes, he was a joke. Do the hijacker math...but also look @ the presidents relationship with the Bin Ladens. Scares me a bit.

The difference between that generation and this generation is that when everything was said and done, even those who opposed the war conceded the fact that it was a good thing that Hitler and his bunch were eliminated.

Yes!, but this conflict is based on religion, and that is the part I *think* most do not get. For "them", it has nothing to do with oil, McDonalds, BK or Publix, it is about Infidels. I think more Americans should realise that.

It is frustrating to try and get some folks to "get it". I was 100% behind GWB in his eliminating the Taliban, and even Iraq, until the WMD's were proved to be non-existant, and the # of US kids getting blown to bits got a little too much.

I hope things get better, but I see no light at the end of the tunnel. GWB is leading the USA into a situation in Iraq that has no end.

Stage2,

Hussein needed to be removed, just as any dictator should be. I question the method, not the result. Are we to go into every country where a leader is supressing his people? We could spent the next 100 years doing so and not make any progress. Is it our right to be the judge, jury and executioner? Some people would think so...I'm not one of them. Have we evolved from the "caveman" mentality or do we still have to prove we are stronger and better than everyone else. As the most powerful nation in the world, we should be looking for ways to "unite" the free world and make it a better place. We can not do it alone!

I didn't vote for this "idiot of a president..."

Maybe you spent too much time under the desk of your past idiot president? :D

It used to be that we could recognize soviet writers (read propaganda) in Western media outlets by their spelling....

"realise" is a Eruopean/Canadian spelling....Are you a bad speller, or, are you overseas or across the border writing about "those Americans" as you look down your nose?

If you're a bad speller, OK. If you're condescending to comment on my govt and my president and you're not an American voter....Butt out! Or, at the very least, admit your bias to the rest of us. No offense intended to our friends around the world ;)

Just a thought, as I put my flame suit on.

:D

Saddam Hussien fired on our planes, while we patrolled the no fly zone. This is an act of war. That is a good enough reason for me. He paid the family of sucide bombers 25,000 dollars, while I believe the average yearly household income is under 1000 dollars a year. He even feed his own people though a chipper-shredder. If they are lucky they would go head first, unlucky then got it feet first. If there are no weapons of mass destruction, what about the weapons inspectors being made to wait, while trucks were being loaded and driven away. This man does not deserve to be alive or in power. Hang him.

I'm sadly reminded of an old saying; A politician looks to the next election, a statesman looks to the next generation. That's what makes me frustrated about this election year. In my opinion, on the war on Islamofascist terror President Bush is a statesman; on many other subjects he's a politician. Kerry strikes me as a politician on everything.

President Bush has a plan and he's sticking to it. He's a man with a clear vision (although you may not see it), unwavering morals, and a dedication to doing the right thing regardless of it's popularity. Hopefully, there are enough of us who share his vision and have the 'nads to stick with it, to give him four more years to work on it come November.

The rest of you Sheeple (people) will follow whatever crap the media feeds you right to the (mass) grave. Only when a major U.S. city has been turned into a smoking hole in the ground or an uninhabitable nuclear wasteland by some raghead's "dirty bomb" will you ever "get it". By then, it'll be to late. Of course, if it's not your city, you probably still won't care. What a bunch of candyasses!

Foolis, you're Canadian, aren't you? Is it true that Canada plans to start using "Gateway to Terrorism" as a tourism promotion?

Bad spelling, no doubt. I can criticize the US gov all I want. Anyone who knows me realiZes that I love the US, spent 2 years living in FL and had applied for me Green Card, as my Mom is a yankee. THATS why I do it, because I hate so see such a great country get pulled into some useless conflict by a baffoon like GWB. And unfortunatly, your "friends around the world" list is getting short.

Foolis, you're Canadian, aren't you? Is it true that Canada plans to start using "Gateway to Terrorism" as a tourism promotion?

Seems to me the hijackers crossed INTO the US......so US Customs did a fantastic job. Our immigrarion policy sucks almost as bad as US Cutoms:eek:

June 30 is handover day, and the Coalition is still getting hammered away at.

Good Luck GW'

OK foolis, ....I'll cut you a little slack ;) Now that I know where you're coming from.

We need to give this whole war on terror more time. If The Bush administration had not been forced by world sentiment to set a date for transferring the reins to the Iraqi's we would be in better shape than now. I could see a lengthy war when we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. Anybody with even a small grasp of the world stage could see that. Give it some time and we will prevail.

Serin gas (enough, if properly packaged and delivered, to kill 20,000 people) turned up in a roadside bomb last week in Iraq. Serin is a nerve agent....A WMD....

I'm more an isolationist lately. But, overlook that tendancy since Sept 11th. The actions of these hate mongers changed EVERYTHING! I hope the US as a whole moves more towards isolation....Stop the friendly trade policies, stop foreign aid, stop spending like we are rich. For heaven's sake, we're borrowing money for this war....my grandchildren will pay all their lives for the defecits.

I'm ready to hear on the news that Fallujah and Najib (spelling help Foolis ;)) are vapor. Then, mass some troops on Iran's and Syria's border and invite them to do anything about. Clean house in the Middle East and keep North America safe for peace loving people. :)

Then, come home from every location taking our military troops for granted. Bring everybody home. :)

I hate that this war has gone the way it has too.But since when has any war lasted just a few weeks?Vietnam ran from the mid 60s (for us anyway) to the mid 70s.We need to get to the reality that the more we try to be careful with force the longer it takes. This thing could be over, but we are more worried about civilian casualties and terrorists firing at us from mosques and hospitals. You can't have it both ways.Don't bitch about how long this war is taking, because you would be yelling the other way if we just leveled the place and killed them all.You whine about torturing terrorists for info, but you would blame the govt if 3000 people get killed because we can't torture them for info.MAKE UP YOUR MINDS!

Then try taking some of your own advice and isolate yourself and your socialistic views north of the border where it belongs. When you can legally vote in our Presidential elections is when you can open your pud holster about US policy. Unless of course we invade Canada, then I could see you complaining about America.

This action has probably gone better than any in history. It's just that the liberal media is out to put Bush out of office. Poor guy never does anything right. According to them, we may as well be war criminals.......and those not paying attention, believe it. :( Anything negative is magnified to the nth degree. We need this battlefront on terrorism and it should be continued until they rue the day they ever messed with us. It's sad that we have to take casualties to protect innocent civilians, if there are any. Typical Americans.........unfortunately, we're too GOOD!

God told Bush to run for president, just ask him. God told him to free the Iraqi's and don't worry, God will make sure he is re-elected. His vision is clear!

Don't believe me, watch "The Jesus Factor" pbs.org

And why don't you go into the bathroom, and shove your head up your A$$...Wait! it already is! YOUR policy has DIRECT impact on my everyday life, so sit back and suck on it, Tinkerbell.
Its knee-jerk reactions like yours that makes me wonder about the collective lucidity of the comman American.

Here's $5.00 USF, go buy yourself a personality.

Funny how they lash out like a cornered rat when they are threatened....Loser.

PS....GDW approval is @ an ALL TIME LOW. Wonder Y?
