My 87 t type wheels are very dingy looking. The car has a brand new paint job but i cant seem to get the wheels clean; especially on the rough spots. I would also like to polish all the high spots myself. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I have tied super green. castrol degreaser, purple power, bleach and laundry detergent but cant seem to get them clean.

see the chain "Who can polish T-Type Wheels" from a couple of weeks ago for info if you can't get them clean.

These wheels had a clear coat applied from the factory. You need to REMOVE this clear coat to get the wheels looking good again. You can do this mechanically - by carefully sanding or chemically with an appropriate paint remover. Either way, once you have the clear coat off, you can clean the aluminum and the wheels will look great once more.
