I have a BorgWarner S300SX3 6668 turbo with a Buick 3 bolt .63 A/R exhaust housing. The turbine housing has been coated with a high temp black and the center section is coated as well. The compressor housing is powder coated "Bengal Silver." This turbo is still in the box from WORK turbo chargers. Zero miles since the inspection. I made approximately 700hp at 30psi on 93/alky. It is rated at 80-82 lbs/min of air flow.

$800 shipped to the lower 48.

I know most of the turbobuick crowd uses PTE turbos. However, after seeing many of them fail with very little usage I wanted a turbo that would be tough as nails. This BW turbo is it!! I drove the absolute hell out of this turbo, 30psi dang near every time. During the inspection at WORK turbos in Alabama there was only one tiny scratch on the thrust bearing(it was replaced). Don't be afraid to use something other than PTE.

Only reason for selling the 66mm 3 bolt is because I bought another BorgWarner turbo. I am going with a 4 bolt billet wheel S300SXE 69mm. I was so pleased with my first BW turbo I went with them again.

This turbo is quite a bit bigger than a TA 49.

Its a journal bearing. As far as I know, all BorgWarner turbos are JB. With a 17 blade PTC from a 30mph roll it was instant boost.

I ran a PTC 17 blade convertor in my th400. Can't really quote stall numbers as there are many different factors affecting the stall speed of a given convertor. Bison or Dusty Bradford could explain that better.

BorgWarner has two different series of aftermarket turbos, AirWerks and EFR. The AirWerks turbos, which is what you have, are all journal bearing whereas the EFR are all ball bearing. The EFR turbos also have titanium aluminide turbine wheels which are half the weight of conventional turbine wheels, a built in compressor recirculation valve, and boost control solenoid valve.

I think you're going to be pleased with the S300SXE 69mm turbo, please keep us posted.

GLWS, that too is a very nice turbo, with the 3-bolt housing I'm sure it won't be long before a buyer comes forward.

I have been trying sell it since November. I don't know if people are afraid to stray from PTE or what.....
