boost goes flat

Hey guys. I am getting ready to buy a 1985 grand national for a very good price. It has a front mount intercooler and other goodies. I will find out more about the car tomorrow. I was told that the car has a tendancy to go into boost but when the transmission shifts the boost goes flat. I will know more about what it is exactly doing saturday when I test drive it. It seems there is alot of goodies in the car but something is not tuned right. Any ideas what could cause this to happen. What should I look out for when I test drive it.

check all vacuum hoses...check the wastegate actuator...it can be over adjusted if it is adjustable at all! with an intercooler and all, find out if a chip was added or changed....Being that it is intercooled, does it have a BOV? just a few suggestions
