I recently purchased an autometer 2 1/16", "Ultralite" Turbo Boost and Fuel Pressure gauge(s). I have a few concerns regarding what a ferrule and a sealing nut is and how its used for the boost gauge tube connection using this diagram http://www.egauges.com/pdf/AutoMeter/691f.pdf. Is it necessary to have this despite I have everything else to mount and wire it up, sender included. For +12V lighting, where would you tap into?

As for the fuel pressure gauge, they said "Caution, As a safety precaution, the +12V terminal of this product should be fused before connecting to the +12V ignition switch. We recommend using a 1 Amp, 3AG fast-acting cartridge type fuse (Littlefuse #312 001) or an equivalent." Is this necessary? This is the diagram regarding this gauge- http://www.autometer.com/productPDF/2650-1134-00rB.pdf Where would you tap into for +12V Ignition?

the ferrule and nut seals the coper or plastic tubing to the gauge and it is a must ( should haave came with the gauge ) i tapped into one of my dash lights for the gauge light power. as far as the fuse on the fuel gauge i didnt run one but maybe i should have anyway its not a problem just pick up a inline fuse holder from the auto parts store

+12 v ignition just means the gauge comes on when you start the car. If you look at the fuse box you will see a couple unused spots that say ign . It appears there are no fuses associated with them, so an in line fuse would be advisable. I recently installed the same autometer fuel pressure gauge. I still complain about the $200 price tag on that thing!
