Biggest turbo in stock housing

I think I read somewhere you can go to a 62 in the stock hot air housing. The 86-87 housings are thicker right? So what size can you fit in them? Also would the size of them be different then the size of a regular TA62? Thanks.

I am pretty sure that a 62 has been the biggest stock appearing turbo. Looks like some new ones with GT wheels may be comming out in the future.

now with a 4 inch inlet, how come you can't put a bigger comp wheel in there?

I'm guessing he means a 4" inlet bell bolted on... the stock "TA" compressor casting will only allow so much machining!

I thought the "stealth" turbo was the biggest stock appearing turbo? Also, isn't this a 70 series turbo?

I had a "Stealth" turbo and it had the "TE" housing. The wheel is a trimmed down 70mm, I think as it actually measures like 68.5mm. Still a monster in that housing!
