bigger intake valve or not

Hey, have a ?, really a friend, had a discussion on getting his heads reworked and was thinking about installing the bigger intake valve 1.77 vs the 1.70 is there much more of a gain by going this way or staying with the stock size valve, the heads that I have had done has the bigger valves but have not had awhole lot of time to notice a big difference in performance, we was just wondering if we should spend the money on something else or what. I would probably spend money elsewhere like bowl work on the heads and unshrouding behind the valves. I used the 1.77s in my stock heads and didn't notice much improvement. Although the valves are swirl polished to enhance airflow I would spend money elsewhere. I had my heads worked on unshrouding the valves and a little bowl work. I noticed a improvement when having this work done...

Thanks, planning on doing the bowl work and the other stuff just wanted to know if going to the bigger valve would be a good improvement. Jr
