Going back thru the archives Ive seen several people post their rmps for the 206 cam. Does anyone have specs on where the best hp gain is on the 206? Im putting in a new converter to match the cam and want to know where I should set the shift point at.

I understand this may be a personal preference thing, but give me your opinions/experience. So far Ive seen anywhere from 5000 to 6000 rpms for this cam.

Anyone else?

I have a guy here in town that I think is a bit obsessive with altitude. He said that if you are shifting at 5500 rpm's at sealevel then you need to go down to around 5000 at our altitude (3700 ft). Ok I understand that you cant push as much air at higher alt so cant make as much HP, but is there really that much of a difference in the shift characteristics?

well, you have less air, but you have a turbo to push it.

Only way to find out is both ways...find what gives you the quickest times and then invent a theory. :)

Mine used to like 5400 rpm...... that is until I split the crank.
As far as elevation, turbo motors aren't as affected as a NA car.
