The 3 bar map in itself has "Zero" benefits, unless you run the PAC, then it is required. (It is the input for the PAC.)

Yes, it is plug and play.
Note that your "pretty boost lights" (Non digitial dash) will be off.
The installation will have no performance effects.

Leave the dash map sensor alone, and install the 3 bar by itself..
However, once the added boost is realized, and it passes the range of the 2 bar sensor, the dash lites will just be pegged, and the boost readings will be unuseable. [They were never usually close, anyway..]
