Which is better? Ball Bearing or conventional Turbo?
Do they make TE44's or TA49's in a B.B. format?

Why a BB in a turbo that size?
The stock convertor wil spool either of those just fine with a .63 A/R housing.
Any particular reason?

Just curious as to the durability of Ball Bearing vs. conventional.
I know spool up time with the 44 or 49 with a stock convertor will be fine, I was just wondering would it be even better with a B.B.

I would say better with the BB[as reported by guys who own them].
It's gonna take more care and feeding to run the BB though.
Those little ceramic ball elements are kinda brittle.
Get a piece of hard grit going through there under boost and you could develop an interesting situation.

I talked to Jack Cotton today for you.
Give hime a call about your question[413-789-0531].
Seems he has some interesting ideas.
B/B turbos are one of the things he sells and has run.
He's had lots of experience with those.:)

Thanks, I will call him next week. I am in the market
Just want to make sure I get the right one for my combo.
:D

You can't go wrong with a bb turbo, except if the wallet is a little thin. One you go bb, you don't go back, but if you just want to run a 44 or 49, they spool up good enough to where the bb option wouldn't be worth it. I ran a 66bb w/a 3k stall and a 70bb w/ a 3500 stall.
