Hi,
A guy I know is looking to sell his American Racing 16x8 wheels off of an 80's style Camaro, which I was thinking about buying off him (the wheels that is). Only problem is, the backspacing is 4.75. I know the backspacing questions have been asked a million times before, but after all the searching I have yet to find a definitave answer on whether 4.75" backspacing will work for a GN? Any help or personal experiences would be great. Thanks!

I wouldn't use them....and I'm not a fan of using spacers either.

4.5" backspacing on 8" wide rim is about as far as I'd like to go and even that is too much in my opinion (3.5" to 4.0" is ideal). 4.75" backspacing on either the front or the rear would suck the wheels in too far, they wouldn't look good, and would put the tire in danger of rubbing the frame in the rear or having the rim rub the upper control arm in the front when the wheel is cut all the way.

Thanks for the advice, looks like I'll have to pass this deal up and get some with the correct BS.
