Are crank sensors somewhat rebuildable???

Mine is ticking away at the front cover. When I pull on the wires of the sensor, the noise stops. Do I need a new one? Or can I tighten something on it? I've tried rigging it with zip-ties but that doesn't seen to work.
And the sensor is installed correctly. Seems all the engine goop was keeping it quiet before I cleaned it.

Replace it before it gets so loose the balancer interupter ring will break it and you are stuck. Been there done that.
