If so, and you know them, are they cool or jerks? What kind of cool rides do they have?

I saw a D-back for the Balt Ravens was on trial for high stakes gambling at his house. WTF would you do something like that making 5 mill a year or more????

Doug Flutie and his family are from my hometown and still live there most of the year. He has a nice Viper. See him all the time at HS football games and the Gym I go to. Really cool guy, always playin pickup basketball. Ive also worked for Ted Johnson a lot and know him really well. He's also a really cool guy.

:D

As far as rides, I think it's a federal law that if you're a pro athlete, you have to own at least one horrendously tacky looking H2 on 24" (min.) chrome wheels, with your initials stitched into its widescreen TV equipped headrests.

Martina Navratolova used to live at the end of my street when I was growing up..all I remember was seeing her periodically playing football with a bunch of kids on the golf course behind her house...oh and her making out with another chick in her back yard one night when we were out on the golf course :) She didn't have any cool cars, a Lincoln is all I can remember seeing there.

Robby Thompson who played 2nd Base for the SF Giants lived across the street from my mother's house. He was really nice and mellow. His wife and kids were cool, they would talk to my handicap sister all the time. I guess not all celebs are jerks!!!

when I worked in Mooresville NC (race city USA). we always ate lunch @ a small hole in the wall dinner. we walked in 1 day & it was packed, the only table was for about 10 people, there were only 3 of us, we sat at the big table the next group of people to come in was Rusty Wallace. he politly asked if they could sit with us. when we finished our lunch he picked up the tab.:) . I met several winston cup drivers working there, Dale sr. we was an absolute but head.

I went down there for a tour of NTI and i could not belive how many race car shops/ drivers where down there it was CRAZY. The only thing was tough it seemed like the damn town shut down at 10 during the week lol. But it wasent to unusal to be walking trew town and have a nascar driver walk past you lol.

My wife's friend is a nanny for John Mabry of the Cardinals. Super cool guy. Has BBQ's all the time. Also played ball with all kinds of big leaguers in college. I'm not much of a name dropper. I'll just have to say that I've never met any pro athletes that were jerks. I'm sure they are out there. Maybe the superstar guys turn that way from the media hounding them all the time?

Mike Tyson and his first wife, Robin Givens used to live close by, in Potomac Maryland. They had a huge house and could be seen at the local markets, and malls on occasion. Also, Robin Givens mom was seemingly attached to these people at the hip as she was almost ALWAYS with them.

They seemed to treat Mike like a child, and if you saw Robin and him together, one couldn't help but think the words "Gold-Digger". It was kinda sad actually, he would just follow them around, they would buy stuff (LOTS of stuff), he would talk to some people on the street, but pretty much keep to himself the times I saw him.

Later, after they got separated, he would just drive around in a Bentley, or one of his AMG Mercedes - he had a lot of really nice cars..

Weirdest part was seeing him pull up to a 7-eleven one day, in the middle of July, in a really nice Bentley, wearing a full length fur coat. It was hot as hell that day, and it was funny as hell watching him get out of that car (the AC must have been on full blast..), walk in to get some drinks, and leave. People were staring at him like he was from the moon. It was very funny!!!

There are or were other pro athletes in my area, mostly basketball players that I have seen over the years (Dikembe Motumbo, Patrick Ewing, Chris Webber, Alonzo Mourning..) that have houses in Maryland, or Northern Virginia (McClean). They did mostly drive some HUGE trucks (Hummer, Range Rover, etc..), but those guys probably wouldn't fit in a Geo Metro too well.. :)

Only real noticeable thing other than wearing a fur coat in the heat of July that I remember about the guys above is that Dikembe has the DEEPEST voice I have ever heard on a guy, and Mike Tyson has gotta have the highest pitched voice I have ever heard on a big guy...

That's about it..

He grew up around the neighborhood, hell of a ball player when he was a kid as well.

I'm sure it's the same in Cali, around here you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a cleb of some sort. I think the biggest prick I've ran into has to be Mike Schmidt. We sold him some jetskis and my son wanted him to sign some cards for him, he said he wasn't aloud to, yea right...

Even Pete Rose signed a Bart Giamatto ball for him, he did joke about blacking out Giamatto's name.

Live near and work in Green Bay, home of the Packers

Interesting topic...

H2 comment is true... I live near and work in Green Bay, WI, home of the Green Bay Packers...

My part-time job is driving limousines and we get a lot of famous people and packer players with very nice homes and vehicles.

Some even have their own JETS, like Vince and Step McMahon from WWE... Steph got out of the limousine and her boobs were at my eye level, she is big girl. also, triple H was riding... then back stage was cool too....

Most of the Players drive H2's and Escalades, and all of those gas hogs... Cletius Hunt had a Buick Grand National dub city version sitting on the shelf in his garage next to Range Rover & Audi, showed me a photo of a late 60's or early 70's chevelle he was getting soon...

Brett Farve still drives a tan F250 since 4 years ago... He is spokesman for Bergstrom Auto, largest dealership owner in state of Wisconsin. They sell every brand of car out there and just recently opened a local porsche dealership... small building but lots of money sitting outside... www.bergstromauto.com

Check out the Bergstrom Auto home page to see Brett Farve photo rotation...

Anyways the packer Players have some very nice rides cruising around....

This past year for MNF Oct 11, 2005 -- I used Hummer H2 limousine to pick up #9 Steve McNair QB from player's hotel and drive to game, gave me $500 tip PLUS ticket to game $350 value in ticket -- on 45 yard line - 1st row, awesome experience...

The best was when Daniel Snyder from Washington Redskins gave me an all access pass for Monday Night Football 1st NFL game played after 9/11/2001 on MNF ABC. The energy level was wild. ESPN was recording players as they came into players parking... Brett Farve was driving his ford pick up truck with his Dad too... After 9/24/2001 -- I bought a $1,000 digital camera to capture more memories.... I acually watched the MNF game from the goal line on visitors side... to watch football game on monday night from the field was AWESOME.... if you like NFL football!

During the Superbowl run in 1996 - 1997, Gilbert Brown had many toys to drive... Then you should have seen the vehicles in Green Bay area. Reggie White and those guys had really nice vechiles with the money and commercials and TV guide ads being produced... Lots of advertisement money goes to players and then spend it just we do.... just have more if it to spend...

Also, drove for few NFL Team Owners - Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears which have private jets... Paul Allen has a yacht in Mediterr... area which is 450 feet long... talk about gas guzzler...

Oh yeah -- POLICE ESCORTS are fun too... after the game and to games... Picked up Howie Long, James Brown, Terry Bradshaw and one other guy... James Brown had to catch flight -- so we were cruisng 90 MPH on the highway... mintues to the airport... The only time allowed to got so fast... The guys-police escorts, I have worked with knew me and knew I would stay close by in traffic....

When FOX guys flew in and I picked them up in a Lincoln Towncar Sedan, Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw & James Brown -- we stopped at local Mc Donalds Drive Through and Terry Bradshaw was sitting in the rear seat saying to the speaker chick as we ordered " Go Pack Go" in a low slow deep voice... I will never forget that....

The list of famous people I have driven for are over 50. In 2002 -- I drove for half of the packer players...

Marie Osmond, Allan Jackson, Conway Twitty, The Kinks, Verizon Test Dude - Paul " Can You Hear me Now", Paul Volo from Third Watch on TV

CEO/VP of Yamaha Motors - Ryuichi Yamashieta flew in to Oshkosh Wisconsin for EAA in 2003 for a day
Bernard Shaw - newsreporter
Ms America 1992 Carloyn Sapps
Jo Dee Messina
Smother Brothers & Judy Collins
ABC Sports - Al Michels, Erick Dickerson, Dennis Miller, Dan Fouts, AND MELISSA STARK...
Mark Tauscher -- went out bar hopping... after dropped the limo off...
Bob Harlan - Packers Pres and CEO
Ryan Longwell, Superbowl 31 MVP Desmond Howard, Gilbert Brown, Aaron Kampman, Doug Pederson, Grady Jackson, Najeh Davenport, Tony Fisher, Mark Wahle, Marco Rivera, Donald Driver, Cletius Hunt, Robert Furgeson, Vince Lombardi JR (looks exactly like Vince Lombardi)

AND special concert seen while working held at Chicago Motor Speedway ROCKFEST - Metallica, Kid Rock with JC (shorty dude), STP, 3rd Eye Blind and Barenaked Ladies....

If this is the last year for Brett Farve to play we will see even more famous people coming to visit and watch him play.

wow a lot to read...time for break

Brett

You are 1 lucky dude! Thanks for the post. How bout scalping me some Packers tickets:D

I haven't heard Mike Modano's Helicopter since the strike began. 11:30 om a weeknight is a little late to be landing your helicopter in a neighborhood.

My friends brother is a professional wrestler for the WWE. I've met him a couple of times and he's very laid back. Not much into cars...but loves American motorcycles.

My best friend grew up with Brandon Lee.

My Dad's second ex-wife went to high school with the lead singer from Vixen (wow, that seems like a long time ago now). I had talked with her on the phone a couple of times and mostly it was just me asking her about other bands (like what're the guys from Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, etc. like in real life).

Randy Johnson used to have a apartment in the Golf Villas in Oro Valley, which is down the street from me.Would see him mostly when he was in town for spring training. This was about 4 years ago. Saw him a few times in the Frys grocery store down the street. He had one of those blue with white stripes Dodge durangos that were supercharged. Speaking of that durango, it was a vehicle at the 2005 Barret Jackson car auction, sold for under 30k I think. Saw Tim allen at the auction while I was there too.

I was sort of friends with Tito Ortiz. One of my best friends trained with him when he was at Punch Out so anytime there's a UFC, we're always with him. He's lots of fun to be around. He's put up with me being drunk and eating all of his food almost every time I see him. The limos and tables/alcohol are almost always paid for by him. The guy is very humble, believe it or not. I can't say anything bad about him.

Most of the pro fighters I've been around are goofy with little or no attitude, you would never guess they can fight if you didn't know them. I worry less about getting in trouble at a UFC afterparty than I do on a regular night.

Alvis Whidden (sp?) lives next door to my cousin. Even though he doesn't play for the Jaguars anymore, he keeps his home here. Her 2 sons spend a ton of time at his place playing video games, and my son has been there a few times too. They like him because he's just like a kid and has cool games and a big ass TV.

His wife drives a phat BMW, and he has a Diesel Ford, with light bling. It actually looks good.

I live in Poway/San Diego, many SD Padres live here. Used to see Tony Gwyn all the time in the stores, he was always friendly and talkative. His wife on the other hand is a total biatch, she sticks her nose up at everyone. My son played little league baseball with Andy Benes' son when he was with the Padres. I talked to him at one of the games, real friendly. The Padre manager, Bruce Bochy is a neighbor and he always takes time to stop and talk to his neighbors. His son goes to high school with mine, he has an attitude unlike his dad..

Several of the Padres ride Harleys!

Emmitt Smith built a house just down the street. 14,000 square feet. Not much....just a place to hang!

Anyway, as soon as he set the rushing record for the NFL, his wife bought him a brand new Lamborghini. Must be nice.

Here's one for ya!

Kenny Bernstein=major tool!

I was about 8 yrs old and we were at the US Nationals in Indy. Kenny wouldn't sign my Mac Tools T-shirt, that had been signed by damn near every other driver at the event because it didn't have the Bud logo on it. What kind of tool turns down a little kid for an autograph because it doesn't have his logo on it? A few hours later we were walkin through the pits with my uncle and we saw Kenny stripped down to his undies between two race trailers, changing into his driving suit. My uncle whips out his camcorder and yells out "smile jackass, thanks for the autograph" One of his team members tried to buy the tape from us, but we just weren't in a selling mood. He offered to sign my shirt though, and I told him I wasn't interested anymore.

I'm a Larry Dixon fan anyway!

On the other hand, Eddie Hill was the coolest guy ever! He sat me in his car, took me on a tour through the hauler and gave me two pistons and a rear tire from his car!
