Any Mercury Marauder Owners???

saw a nice montclair for 1500, needed a little body resto, always have loved them... and a friend wants to give it a home, has a fresh 390 with a reversed stamped 502 block, .60 over, new crank, bearings, rebult heads, HV oil pump, Nasty cam, and some carb 2 barrel carb ive never heard of...

As i said the body needs some resto, But i know what its like getting your first car, and having it be a driving project that turns out to be a hooptie rolleyes::biggrin a

and suggestions, comments, walk away, questions?

that's a Holley 4 barrel carb on it- probably some version of the 1850 that flows 600cfm..

that 390 is probably worth at least half of the asking price.. i'd say go for it, but be aware that it will probably need some tlc to make it a reliable runner.
but whatever mechanical work it needs will be easy to do and parts will be fairly cheap.. i don't know about the body stuff- but i don't think they made too many Marauders..

If it were me, I'd shoot a bodyman a few bucks to come out and look at it. Just a thot.
