A/C Compressor

When the compressor surges on and off what does this indicate? Is it a lack of freon?

yep.....i am actually having the same prob. except i have a major leak.....if the compr. turns on and off pretty quick thats your prob.......

Either the pressure built from the compressor is too low (low freon level) or the pressure switch is bad. Get it serviced by a reputable a/c shop before you wear out the compressor clutch. I got mine tested, converted and charged up for about $150.

Could be,
When I was filling my system after putting on a new compressor etc. it would surge on and off till it was fully charged.
