88 versus 89 intake

Is an intake from an 89 interchangeable with an 88?

Correction to title and clarify

Ah crap, I typed the title incorrect. Yes, I'm wondering if a 78 and 79 intake is interchangable on a Buick 3.8 Turbo motor.

No. The 78 is the old style low port head. 79 and newer are the high port and better flowing head.

Thank you VERY much. A Tech instructor friend is trying to figure out why the intake gaskets leak on a 78 and it apprears the heads are 79's, so 78 intake on a 79 doesn't appear to be a good match and now I know why. have not seen the engine just trying to get some info for him.
