84 hot air software

I have an 84 Riv T-type Turbo. Everything is stock. I'd like to look at getting a program to run on my laptop that I can monitor the various sensors while driving and it also log what is going on so when I have that intermittent hickup I can go back and see what went wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions on which of these programs will best fit my needs? Thank you.

Your best bet is probably going to be Direct Scan. But You'll have to switch to an 86-87 ECM and MAF. Its plug and play with the exception of the MAT sensor. Here is a link to a "How to" page, 84/85 ECM Conversion to 86/87 ECM. This is the first mod just about every hot air owner does.

I've had turbolink for 10 or so years.
See TurboLink™ - A Brain Scan for Your Vehicle!

On a hot air ECM there is only a subset of the data available
as compared to the IC ECM in normal mode where you can
go to WOT. You can go to diagnostic mode and get more
but then can't use WOT.

Thanks Ed,

So your saying I'll just get basic data from the ECM while just regularly driving around the car? That should be fine. I am just having intermittant driveability problems. I just want to get the car running right before I change or improve anything. Also does the turbo link wires just plug into the aldl adapter and it's that simple to get this software to run on the 84 hot airs?

My old version has a cable that plugs into the ALDL port from a laptop.
You have to let it know it's a hot air in the setup menu but it was no
problem getting it running. Check out their website.
