84 GN carb engine to fuel injection ?

can you covert a 84 gn carb engine to fuel injection by using the 85 and up factory fuel injection set up? and are there any major differance in the 84 carb engines bottom end compared to the fuel injected versions bottom end?

What you have is an 83 and earlier engine. 84 was the first year for SFI. But if you are going to convert it, go with an 86/87 conversion. The early block can be converted and will hold up to ta49 style turbo easy.

checked your vin# to make sure it is an 84? Also, a check of the block # might reveal if it is a turbo block. If you discover it is not, the crank won't have the needed rolled journals for strength and longevity. Keep us informed so we might be able to help.
