83 regal

Guys junk yarding today and seen this 83 regal with a 4 barrel intake hmmm so i crawled under the darn thing to find out the number on the block said 3.8 4 and what looked like the knock sensor was on the side of the block. Must be a earlier block somebody put in there.

No knock sensors on the sides of a Buick block. There was only one location and thats at the back on top. I bet you were looking at one of those cheap a$$ frost plug repair kits. I've seen a few of those in my travels. I would imagine its hard finding a good 4.1 and it was replaced with a 3.8. Most of the 4.1 I find are usually in the boneyard because they were rode hard and put up wet. Nothing pisses me off more is to spend an hour pulling the motor and than field dressing it only to find water in the cylinder from a blown HG.
