Does anyone have a clue about swapping reaerends? I have an 87 regal t with a v8, the rearend set up facory is a 7.5 ...I am looking at swaping to a gn 8.5 but would love to have disc brakes in the rear...without spending a ton a money, i know i could get the 8.5 and then change to disc but was thinking there could already be a set up for me..soooo i was wondering if anyone has done this, camero, monte carlo, or corvette or something....any ideas?...HELP

there is no oem bolt on rear disc brake for the "metric" axle flange.

Derrik is right. There is no "stock" disc brake for either the 7.5 or 8.5 rear. You can swap an A body rear and then bolt on one from a 4th gen F body and the rear is wider but to do a disc rear you need some sort of bolt on or weld on bracket for the stock rear.

$39 bracket and you'll be able to bolt on 98-02 Fbody brakes (V6 models have the same brakes as far as I understand.) You can get the bracket from brphotrods dot com they claim it will work with any 10 bolt so hopefully it would work for you.
